For all of you who disagree with school vouchers in Texas
because it allows tax money to go to religious institutions, I say great, then
lets REALLY do separation of church and state. In this case, all of your
tithes, donations for building funds, and contribution to ANY religious
affiliated charity should not be tax deductible. That money you deduct from
your taxes does not help the American people, but only those who believe what
you do, be it any religion. In many cases, that money is going outside of the
US and not at all helping your fellow American’s in need. There is a study that
states 71,000,000,000 dollars are deducted from taxes for religious deductions.
Shouldn’t you be concerned about that too? Now, if you don’t want to go “that”
far, then what’s the big deal with letting vouchers go to religious schools?
Where do you draw the line? How do you define what religious organizations can
have tax money and which ones can’t?
